Why aren’t you doing this?

It's the only path to The Good Life...

Before becoming a full-time writer/entrepreneur... I was chef.

What I never mentioned online is that I was training to take part in the biggest cooking competition in France.

I wanted to become a "Meilleur Apprenti De France".

That means "best apprentice of France".

You see - if you're anything like me... you have a deep desire to discover what you’re capable of. What you can accomplish. What impact you can make in your life and the life of your loved ones.

And that's why existence can be so painful.

Especially before finding "your calling".

You get addicted to the comfort and the "instant pleasure", but spend every second thinking about your potential.

It hurts.

I've been there.

That's what we're touching on today.

By the end of this letter, you'll have:

  • A path to becoming deeply loving live

  • A path to monetize any skill you desire to master

  • An understanding of HOW TO LEARN (this is game-changer)

Coming back to me as a chef, I didn't seriously enjoy it.

But I was like:

"Huh... it seems like the only path to doing something big with my life"

So I was walking it.

But the danger here is building a name for yourself in a domain you don't truly enjoy to realize 20 years down the line that you regret it. Oooof... now THAT would hurt.

In my case I had some luck.

I discovered philosophy, metaphysics, and spirituality pretty early on... this led me to understanding myself.

I was able to build my personal philosophy.

AKA: my definition of "The Good Life".

The reason you have no direction. No joy. Or no skills you enjoy in life... is because you have no personal philosophy. You preach wanting the good life, but have never taken the time to define it.

Lucky for you - I wrote an entire article on this last week that you can check out here [Click to find your personal philosophy (aka: what you want to do)].

Once you have this philosophy, you can use it to discover your mastery domain.

What is the path to mastery?

The path to mastery isn’t for everyone.

And it's not what you think.

It's not linear. Nor exponential.

At least not in the way you'd expect.

Mastery of any skill looks like a staircase (with very long steps)

A learning spurt, followed by a plateau. Then another small learning spurt, followed by another plateau. Over and over.

If you don’t learn to love these plateaus, you’ll cut yourself short.

I’m willing to bet this has happened to you right?

You pick a skill, make some progress and get excited. But all of a sudden, growth stops. You get bored. Then you get complacent and skip to another skill (starting the entire process again)—Never building a life you love.

If you keep doing this, you can forget about:

  • Building a successful business

  • Making a global impact with your content

  • Living a life that gets you excited to wake up every morning

You see—unlike a video game where you get rewards at level 1. Mastery gives you results at level 20. For months on end, you must practice solely based on faith. This is why it’s so hard to get good.

Because this will happen NO MATTER the skill you try to get good at.

It’s also what happened to me only 1.5 years ago:

I started UGC ads, then quit 3 months in.
I started a UGC agency, then quit 1 month in.
I started 5 different personal brands (guess where they are now).

And when your like us... wanting to be REALLY GOOD at something… this can be the most painful process ever.

(Don’t worry, I’mma give you a solution to this pretty soon - I wouldn’t leave you hanging like that)

━━━━━━━━
You’re probably thinking:
━━━━━━━━

“Uhhhh this is gonna take too long. I don’t think mastery is for me”

But you’ve tried the easy path...

  • Did that work out for you?

  • Are you where you want to be?

  • Did you make the impact you want to make?

If you’re reading this, you want more from life. Mastery is how you get more. There is no other way.

But, there is a solution to ENJOYING it.

And I'm willing to bet that's your only goal... to enjoy life more.

Let’s get back into it…

Mastery is the key to love

When you master a skill:

  • You can monetize easily

  • You get recognized for it

  • You can make impact with it

No matter the path—it now opens to you.

People respect mastery. They praise mastery. They get inspired by mastery.

Look at the world leaders.

It isn’t the government.

It’s the singers, the artists, the industry leaders. It’s the people that got SO GOOD at one skill, that they transformed the entire domain. They changed the worlds economics, structure, and thought patterns… simply by mastering what they love.

Now… this benefit is cool and all.

Sure.

However - the greatest benefit I've got from walking this path, is depth. I've gained a frame for life.

"Euan... what do you mean by frame?"

Well, imagine yourself as a camera (stick with me lol).

A camera on which you can change the lens.

On one lens, you have this musky disgusting color to it... it makes everything look dull and boring. But on the next lens, you have a lens of pure love, when you look through it, the world looks perfect from your eyes.

That second lens is mastery.

When you walk the path of mastery with a skill you deeply love (EMPHASIS ON DEEPLY LOVE), that becomes your frame.

  • You pick on information that would advance the skill

  • You comprehend stuff through that skill

  • You relate ideas to that skill

Because that skill becomes your n1 priority (since you love it).

This is the importance of the personal philosophy.

It shows you what you love.

Without picking a mastery domain based on your philosophy... you only have 2 other choices:

1. Dedicate yourself to "nothing" and live "averegely"
2. Dedicate your life to a skill you don't enjoy

Both of these WILL ALSO BECOME YOUR FRAME.

Do you want to frame reality through "averageness"…?

…probably not.

Do you want to frame reality through "non-enjoyment"…?

…also not.

But through love?

HMMMMMM!!!! Sign me the fuck up.

This is why so many people hate their ENTIRE life. The 9-5 job they hate is their main occupation. Everything in their "free time" is still framed by that.

That's how the mind works.

Do you see it?

Do you see the importance?

So SURE....

The path to mastery is hard, it's long, and it's complicated.

But it's also filled with love.

It's the most enjoyable process of all (when done right).

Now... let's get into the 6-steps to approaching mastery in a way that you'll enjoy, that will get you results, and that will make you fall in love with your life:

The 6-Steps to Mastery, Growth, and Monetization

By applying these 6 steps, you will have EVERYTHING you need to live your mastery skill.

Let's get started:

1. Stop underestimating yourself

What gives you the ability to imagine a distant star? The smell of lavender? The taste of a juicy piece of meat? Or even visualize yourself as a Viking, fighting in a bloodshed battle?

I’m serious.

Try this right now (The Viking battle is the most fun)

Realize: You have never experienced outside of yourself.

Without your mind, there would be nothing.

Your mind can:

• Decipher the slightest facial expression

• Understand a language with millions of combinations

• Take an abstract thought, combine it with seemingly unrelated other thoughts, then bring it into the physical world through writing, crafting, or building.

Humans create the world as we speak.

Thoughts, words, buildings, cities, phones, the internet, cars, planes, vacations, days, months, a rock, a giraffe… All understanding has been given by us (The human mind, which you have)

If your mind creates experience, you have the power to become world-class at anything - don't you?

Really ponder this.

YOUR mind is powerful.

The only thing blocking it - is yourself.

If you're mental chatter wasn't there to tell you what is "normal" or "not normal", you'd have the ability to shift your identity, your emotions, and your state of mind on command.

(which is possible btw.)

Understand this, gain your power, then move on:

2. Create your personal philosophy

I mentioned this a few times.

But you NEED to know what your definition of "The Good Life" is.

Without it—you have no framework for decision making. You have no direction to walk in. You’re basically a headless chicken.

So if you don’t want to be a headless chicken, read this post, then come back:

If you've already read it, and applied it, let's move forward:

3. Create your topic tree

Once you have your personal philosophy, the rest is simple.

Ask yourself:

"What is the n1 skill that would allign the most with this personal philosophy?"

Then...

"What are 2 interests/knowledge areas I find deeply attractive?"

This unique mix will make you stand out.

It’ll also make you enjoy life more.

You can see these areas as part of your personal philosophy - and they’ll all come into play when we get to monetization.

Anyway... this skill could be video games, art, business, money making, dancing, singing, etc… You get the idea.

“But Euan… video games are bad for you”

Sure, there are some health issues when you sit in-front of a screen for 12h straight getting shot dopamine up your veins… but approach it the right way and you'll be good.

Learn to manage your emotions, sleep schedule, goals, fitness, etc... these apply to ALL areas of life.

Whatever skill you pick, you must fully dedicate yourself to becoming the best you can be.

Make it your full-time “job”.

If you don’t know how, then learn.

If others have done it, you can to, stop making excuses holding you back from being the person you wanna be.

4. RESEARCH. RESEARCH. RESEARCH.

Find books, YouTube channels, blogs, articles, and anything you can find on this skill.

Spend:

20% of your time resting
30% of your time learning
50% of your time practicing

This can shift based on personal preference—but overall, this gives a balance for your brain to learn at maxium effiency.

Knowledge expands your awareness.

It creates your frame.

The more you know about what you love - the more confident you’ll feel. If you picked the right skill based on your personal philosophy... spending time learning won't be an issue (because you’ll love it).

I'm not saying it won't be hard.

But again... hard doesn't mean painful.

This next step is how you 20x your learning speed:

5. Create content

Now... you may or may not already be a creator on social media.

If you aren't, you're thinking:

"Huhhh? Why do I need to add yet another skill?"

Here's why:

It's the single best learning tool

You only retain 20% of what you read.

But when you teach?

You retain 90%

That's a CRAZY difference.

Over the span of 10 years, who do you think is more competant?

This works because writing/recording will force you to process and organize the information in your mind, leading to a faster, deeper, and clearer understanding.

Creation is also how you practice meta-cognition (big words I know... but stick with me):

Metacognition = Thinking about your thinking. Creation gets you to think about your words, phrases, sentences, application of what you learned, steps to applying it, details, problems, etc… This allows you to identify knowledge gaps for you to research further.

It’s basically a self-testing framework.

You get to see where your knowledge is lacking.

Powerul stuff ey?

Now… the juicy juice:

6. Monetize your philosophy

There is no better way to learn AND make a living out of what you do than by creating content.

But here's a pro tip:
Don’t rely on the platforms to pay you, if I did that, I would be making NOTHING right now.

"Okay Euan... so what should I do instead?"

Great question ;)

By sticking to the steps above, you'll know more about your domain than 90% of people (because 90% of people are lazy).

So what you can do is:

Package up your journey in a unique course, program, or service.

Teach people how to learn your core skill... but with a twist.

What twist?

Your personal philosophy!

Teach your skill, but also your values, your mindset, your view on reality... your personal philosophy is the unique frame that'll make you stand out from anyone else online.

Meaning you'll monetize.

Now all you need to do is:

1) Post content online to get traffic (based on your topic tree + philosophy)

2) Drive traffic to a lead magnet, email list, or direct offer.

3) Make offers to your program in that lead magnet, email list, or direct offer.

4) Then make more advanced offers to the people who buy (buyers buy again)
