Don’t look for motivation, try this instead…

A step-by-step process to end the day feeling proud of yourself

I stared at the ceiling with one single thought in my mind.

“I could have done so much more today”

My task list was full, my action list was non-existent.

Let me ask you this one thing…

If you woke up tomorrow and did everything you said you would, then did that again for 365 days straight, who would you be?

You don't need more motivation, you need more intent.

Most people nowadays only rely on motivation.

Is this you?

‣ You only act with a fire under your ass
‣ You fall into bad habits when you feel "comfortable"
‣ You don't put 100% effort into every single piece you produce

This is where the issue stems from.

You haven't trained your intent to the point of gaining back control over your body… It's weird ey?

When you take a step back, you realize that 80% of your actions happen subconsciously. As if somebody else held the wheel.

If this is you, this post is about to change your life.

"Euan... What do you mean by intent? What is that?"

Intent is willpower.

Willpower is your ability to direct awareness with ruthless accuracy. EVERYTHING stems from it:

‣ Thoughts
‣ Actions
‣ Imagination

Anything you can think of stems from willpower.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction

Isaac Newton

This is why success is the sum of your human will. If you can will it, you can do it. If you can do it, you can get the result.

Let's take it back to first principles…

If every action has an equal reaction, success is a game of input/output.

This means you need to find the input that creates your desired output. Then repeat it over & over. How do you do that?

Willpower.

That's it.

With enough training, consistency will be guaranteed, and you'll finally be freed. You'll have control over your inputs (hence control over your outputs).

People overcomplicate online biz, ESPECIALLY content creation.

ALL you should care about is:

1. Test inputs
2. Do more of what works, less of what doesn't

"Okay this is cool and all... But how do I get more intent? How do I improve my willpower?"

You struggle to get anything done, end the day feeling like a failure, and doubt whether any of your work will pay off…

All because you have no big goal to negate your bad habits.

More specifically... You have no purpose.

The strategy to stay ruthlessly consistent is to simply love what you do and find meaning in doing it. I know it sounds so cliché, but that's for a reason.

I work 6 days a week, from 7:30 am to 9 pm, full focus all day.

I don't do this through the Pomodoro technique, or any other crap like that. I just built a business I love. That's it.

I did that by finding my purpose.

(I wrote an entire article about finding purpose, and applying it to your online brand to monetize what you love [CLICK HERE TO READ])

When you have a deep, meaningful, and BIG goal-like purpose... Your bad habits get negated. To achieve the goal, removing those habits becomes necessary.

This is why it only works if you are honest with yourself.

Some people look for purpose to tick a box. They don't put time and effort into finding it. But purpose is THE MOST important aspect of life and business.

Purpose is the fuel for willpower; Willpower is the fuel for success.

The 7 Commandments For Willpower

See purpose as the digestive system that makes sure everything is processed correctly. It's a filter.

The input is clean energy (the list we are about to go over)

Willpower is the output (that causes you to gain control)

This list will make you a better creator, entrepreneur, and human in general… If you apply it, you will fall in love with life and WANT to get stuff done:

1. Resist Impulses

I've done a bunch of 2+ month dopamine detoxes.

I used to think they were BS. But it's the most life-changing thing I've ever done. Not an ounce of cheap dopamine.

It's as if my brain re-wires itself to LOVEEEE my work.

If you're serious about making it online... Try it.

Just for a few days ;)

2. Love Pain

This sounds so wrong lmfao.

Entrepreneurship is painful. You'll have days where you feel PHYSICAL PAIN due to not being where you want to be.

But that's not a bad thing.

If you don't confront difficulty, you don't grow.

Stop seeing pain as negative; Start seeing it as an opportunity to learn.

3. Eat clean

This one BLEW my mind when I started taking it seriously.

What you eat is tied to what you make:

‣ 10x energy
‣ 10x sleep quality
‣ 10x mental clarity

That afternoon slump you get? The one that f*cks up your entire day?

That's all caused by your diet.

I didn't want to believe this at first, but man is it true.

P.S. I'm on a low-carb/high-fat diet (INSANE AMOUNTS OF ENERGY)

4. Meditate

This is pretty straightforward...

Everyone says to do it, but nobody does.

Meditating will have the same effect as eating healthy, making you an overall higher performer. You’ll manage to be present in “boredom” and fall in love with the details of your work.

Hence, you'll make better content and more money.

Do 20 mins every morning and see what happens.

5. Sleep

Sam Ovens has a beautiful way of saying this:

"Energy is the policeman for your willpower"

If you don't sleep enough, you'll fall into bad habits easily and never get anything done. Sleep 7-9h EVERY single night. Same wake-up & sleep time.

This is more powerful than you could ever believe.

8. Set goals

Goals is an understatement here.

You want to go further than that and set a vision.

Who do you want to be in 30 years? What do you want to have done? What problems do you want to fix?

The bigger you think, the easier willpower becomes.

This article I wrote will help you find and monetize your purpose: [CLICK HERE TO READ]

9. Gratitude

Find the balance between looking to the future, and being grateful for the present.

You have everything you need to love life.

But you should still find a balance of dissatisfaction to boost you forward ;)

10. Relentless persistence

The only path to failure is through quitting.

If you don't quit, you don't fail.

99% of the time, if you want to win in your market, you just need to become the last man standing.

I’ve built a system that guarantees you stay ruthlessly consistent with the work you do (AND get fulfillment from doing it)…

I struggled with this myself, so I put it up for free to save you headache…
